Vol. VI. February, 2006 Issue 2.
Commanders Column
Gentlemen of F Company,
I look forward to seeing every man of F Company at our annual Spring meeting, 11am, Saturday, February 4, at the Log Cabin at Fort Harrison, the old visitor center, just behind the new visitor Center, just south of Rt. 5, at the Fort Harrison unit of the Richmond National Battlefield Park.
This past Saturday four of us, Lt Turley, 1st Sgt. Stafford, Cpl Powell, and myself, had the honor of attending the annual meeting of our new parent organization, the Fighting First Regiment, Col. Carver, commanding, at the Ramada Inn in Fredericksburg. Our own blue 1859 militia flag graced the meeting, and the Colonel drew attention to the fact that, as it says "1st Regiment, F Company," it was a proper headquarters flag, and was somewhat prophetic given our new relationship with the 1st Regiment Reenactment group. I will give a more complete report at our own upcoming meeting, but I do want to say how excited I am about our joining their ranks. It's a well organized, energetic crowd, with a very good attitude, and I believe they will make a very good fit for F Company, 21st Virginia.
Once again, here are the dates that we are considering for the upcoming reenacting season that is straight ahead. Note the change in date for the COI, due to a number of requests. Gentlemen, please be ready support the company in as many of the 2006 events as you can, and Gents, once you have committed to a date, PLEASE move heaven and earth to actually show up, and add your rifle to the F Company firing line. Under the bylaws of our new organization, if we have less that fifteen muskets at a maximum effort event, we run the risk of being assigned to another company; and your officers sidelined. Now, wouldn't that be the pits!

Spring Membership Meeting
The Spring membership meeting of F Company will be at the Log Cabin at Fort Harrison on Sat., Feb 4, from 11 am to 3 pm. This is the old visitor center, just behind the new visitor center at the Fort Harrison unit of the Richmond National Battlefield Park. It's easy to find on the Virginia map; coming from Richmond, travel east on Rt. 5, pass Laburnum, to Battlefield Park Road, turn right, south, to Ft. Harrison, continue to the Ft Harrison visitor center, park in the parking lot, and find the Log Cabin. This is courtesy of our good friend Ed Sanders, who also wants everyone to know that they would like to see as many of us as possible at CW Days at Tredegar on April 1, from 10am to 4 pm.
