Captain
’s ColumnThe holidays have come and gone (hope they were good) and things are getting back to normal, whatever that is. The 2007 reenactment season is drawing close and it is time for us to get ready.
If you haven’t already heard F Company’s annual meeting will be Saturday, February 17th. It will be at the American Civil War Museum at Tredegar which is where the end of the year meeting was held last December. The hours will be from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. These meetings have become very stream lined and should not take very long, park in the drill field area next to the conference room not in the parking lot.
If you were able to attend the meeting in December you were given a list of possible events for the upcoming season. Please refer to this list and be thinking about what you want to attend.
Coming up even before the annual meeting is the Antique / Civil War show at the showplace in Mechanicsville. This is Saturday and Sunday, February 3rd and 4th Saturday’s hours are 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM Sunday’s hours are 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM. We will have a table display there for recruiting purposes. We have done this show in the past, but it has been a while since we were there. If you can help man the table please let us know. Wear your uniform and we will have a nametag for you, but we need to know in advance.
The probable dates for Camp of Instruction are March 24th and 25th; mark this on your calendar. A couple of locations are under consideration for the site. We will let you know as soon as that is determined.
Now is the time to check your uniform, accouterments, and equipment to see what needs to be repaired and / or replace. Don’t wait till the last minute.
That is all for now. Hope to see you all soon.
Respectfully submitted,
Captain Turley

Gentlemen,
Another reenacting season is fast approaching. I would like to remind everyone to check all of your gear now before the events begin and make necessary repairs or replacements while we are in the off-season.
Our annual meeting is scheduled for February 17th at the American Civil War Museum at Tredegar Iron Works in Richmond. The meeting will be at 11:00 A.M. and the executive committee will meet at 10:00 A.M. If you are planning to attend, please make every effort to be on time. Directions will be in this newsletter. I would also ask that you contact your Corporals, if you haven’t already, to let them know about your intentions.
We are also looking into doing the civil war show on February 3rd and 4th at the showplace. Tony is looking for two people from 10:00 - 2:00 and two people from 2:00 - 6:00 on Saturday and two people from 12:00 - 5:00 on Sunday. Let me or your Corporals know if you’re interested.
I encourage everyone to attend the meeting and the C.O.I. This year. We need a good C.O.I. to start the season off and I would love to see a strong showing. We may have some potential recruits at camp this year so come on out and encourage them. We will have a date and a location ironed out by the meeting.
Let’s do our best to communicate with each other this year and make this our best year yet! Please keep our service men and women in your prayers and always remember the sacrifices they are making for us.
Y.O.S.,
1st Sgt. David Gammon
